Another Way to Connect
Click "Virtual Phone" on the KOA home page to open a standalone phone window — the idea is that you stay in touch via phone: sneaking a text at work, lying in bed before sleep, just pull out your phone and they are right there.
The phone, games, and Offline Scenes all share the same memory and persona: the gift you gave them in-game, the things you experienced together offline — they remember it all when you chat on the phone, and vice versa.
Chat
Text-style messaging — the most-used app on the phone:
- Send messages — just type like any messaging app; you can enable them to text you first in settings. Next to the input box are two buttons: the kiwi button is "Queue" — tap it to queue a message without sending, so you can write several messages and send them all at once; the blue send button next to it is the actual send. If your messages stay stuck on "Queued," just tap the blue button.
- Emoji reactions — you can react to each other's messages with emoji.
- Voice messages — they will send you voice clips (requires TTS setup; see Voice Setup Guide).
- Send photos — share what you see with them (requires a multimodal model with vision; see API Setup Guide).
- More features — chat settings include search, favorites, and stats, plus chat history import/export.
Calls & Watch Together
Voice calls: call them for a real-time voice conversation — you talk, they listen, they think, they reply, all hands-free. Requires voice setup (STT + TTS; see Voice Setup Guide). They may call you sometimes too — remember to pick up.
Watch Together: during a call, you can share your screen and watch movies, shows, or browse the web together — they can see your screen and will chat about it in real time. Requires a multimodal model with vision.
The "Phone" app is a standalone immersive experience — call content is not written to chat memory and doesn't affect your text conversation context. Want to carry a call into your chat? Tap the dial button inside the "Chat" app to start a call: calls initiated from chat are automatically saved to chat memory.
Moments
They post everyday updates — today's mood, thoughts about you, little things in life; virtual bystander NPCs join in too. You can post your own, like and comment — they will respond to your interactions.
When you see that late-night post they made, don't forget to leave a comment.
Couple Diary
A dual-perspective journal: you write about your day, they write about theirs. The same event, two different voices — sometimes you'll read something in their diary that they never said out loud.
Calendar & Anniversaries
Save important dates to the calendar: anniversaries, birthdays, promises, and even period tracking. They keep these dates in mind — offering warmth on special days and extra care when you're not feeling well.
Resonance Playlist
Based on your mood and recent story together, they recommend songs to listen to with you — tap to play. They picked the songs, and they'll tell you why.
Tarot
A full 78-card deck. Draw a few for fun — read and forget, purely for entertainment, no superstition intended.
Literature
Two reading experiences:
- Stories they write — they become an unknown author, crafting a story whose ending you can't predict. You turn the pages and discover a brand-new world.
- Read together — share a book with them, reading and discussing thoughts along the way.
Their Phone
Sneak a peek at their phone — who knows what you might find?
Return Home
Phone chat and Offline Scenes represent different parts of your day — texting long-distance during the day, coming home under the same roof at night. Tap "Return Home" in chat to sync your phone conversation back to Offline Scenes, and the narrative flows naturally: they know what you talked about over text and will pick up where you left off when you meet.
Tips
- If the phone shows no signal, make sure the KOA launcher is still running — the launcher is the phone's "signal tower."
- In phone settings, you can change the wallpaper and adjust preferences for each app — make it a phone that feels like yours.
- Chat uses your configured API; for sending photos and Watch Together, remember to switch to a multimodal model.
